Ministry of Youth Development Continues Screening of Future Master Trainers for "One Youth Two Skills Solution"
In a determined effort to foster youth empowerment, the Ministry of Youth Development is steadfastly engaged in the ongoing screening process for aspiring Master Trainers in the groundbreaking "One Youth Two Skills Solution" program. Under the guidance of Mr. Patrick Agha Mba, the Commissioner for Youth Development in Anambra State, this initiative marks a pivotal stride towards a more promising future for the youth.
On the notable date of Tuesday, August 29th, 2023, Mr. Mba addressed an attentive audience composed of Master Trainers from ANAOCHA, DUNUKOFIA, NJIKOKA, IDEMILI SOUTH, and IDEMILI NORTH. The venue for this enlightening discourse was the esteemed Staff Development Centre (SDC). During this address, Mr. Mba highlighted the groundbreaking partnership with Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, a Youth Friendly Governor whose commitment to human capital development marks a pioneering achievement not only for Anambra but for all of Nigeria. Additionally, Mr. Mba celebrated Mr. Governor's remarkable accomplishment of training over 5000 youths without any charge, a significant milestone since the inception of Anambra State.
The Commissioner shared the encouraging news that these potential Master Trainers emerged triumphant from a competitive selection process, standing out among a pool of over 7000 applicants. These remarkable individuals aspire to become Master Trainers, specializing in 52 diverse Vocational Skill areas. This comprehensive program spans across the 326 wards scattered throughout the 21 Local Government Areas (LGAs) within the State.
"At the core of the "One Youth Two Skills Solution" initiative lies a holistic developmental package, encompassing Vocational Skill training, Entrepreneurship training, the establishment of Cooperative Societies, facilitation of Business Financing, and a pivotal Mentoring Stage. This comprehensive approach reflects a collective aspiration to transform Anambra State into a vibrant Skill Hub in the years ahead, addressing pressing issues such as unemployment and restiveness.
Astoundingly, Mr. Mba unveiled an impressive statistic — a staggering 100,000 eager trainees have already registered to be a part of this program. Underscoring the government's unswerving commitment to excellence, he emphasized their steadfast dedication to maintaining the highest standards of skill development for Anambra's youth.
