Ministry Of Youth Development To Consolidate Partnerships Ahead Of Phase 2 Of "1 Youth,2Skills" Programme
Anambra State Ministry of Youth Development has commenced an appreciation tour to the entrepreneurship development institutes that partnered with Anambra state government to deliver the first phase of one youth two skills entrepreneurship programme that saw five thousand youths empowered with seed capital to start up a business.
The Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr Patrick Agha Mba commenced the tour with a visit to Renaissance Modern Polytechnic, Mbaukwu, Awka South Local Government Area.
Speaking during the visit, Mr Agha Mba noted that the essence was to appreciate them for their role towards the successful pilot phase of 1 Youth 2 Skills programme and to consolidate the partnership ahead of the second phase of the program.
Noting that their expertise in their vocational skills area will be needed in the second phase of the Youth Empowerment flagship programme of the state, Mr Agha Mba pointed out the possible areas that require improvement to give the trainees the best.
Mr Agha Mba noted that the second phase has about 47 skills as against the 21 that were accessed in the first phase, adding that the state government is determined to build productive youths through the programme.
Responding, the Rector of the institution, Professor Clifford Nwanna, thanked Governor Chukwuma Soludo, immensely for his passion for the welfare of the youth and expressed their readiness to partner with the state government in training the youths of Anambra State.
Inspection of the facilities by Mr Agha Mba and other members of the delegation climaxed the visit.
The Director, National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) South East Zone, Engr. Ngozi Okelekwe among others were part of the visit
