Executive Council approves funds for 1Youth2Skills Cohort 2
ANSEC approved ₦2.84 billion for business financing, cooperatives, certification and mentorship after reviewing Cohort 1.
Approval of Funds for Cohort 2 Empowerment under the 1Youth, 2Skills Scheme
The Council reviewed the success of Cohort 1 of the Soludo administration’s flagship youth empowerment program, where 7,163 out of 11,000 trainees excelled in 65 skill areas. Additionally, 235 Umuboi (apprentices) from the Local Enterprise Development of 21 local governments in the state were successful, with over 1,000 millionaires emerging from the graduates. Funds for the empowerment of Cohort 2 were approved, as they are ready for commissioning.
Approved Projects and Funding
The Council approved the release of N2,835,150,000 for the following projects:
- 1Youth 2Skills Business Financing Scheme, N2,588,520,000
- 1Youth 2Skills Cooperatives Start-up, N141,900,000
- Graduation and Certification, N73,230,000
- 1Youth 2Skills Mentorship Scheme, N31,000,000
